We are excited to announce that the NWAAPM’s upcoming spring meeting will be held on May 1, 2026 at the beautiful Hotel Indigo on the waterfront in Vancouver, WA.
Held each year near Seattle, our Fall Meeting offers a full day of cutting-edge scientific talks, interactive vendor sessions, and excellent networking opportunities. Attendees can earn valuable continuing education credits (CAMPEP and MDCB) to fulfill professional requirements. The event concludes with a social reception featuring local food and drink, providing a warm and friendly forum to connect with peers.
The Early Career Investigator Symposium is a highlight of the NWAAPM Spring Meeting, showcasing outstanding research from students, residents, and postdoctoral scholars in medical physics. Each presenter is given 8 minutes to deliver their talk, followed by 2 minutes of questions from the audience. This friendly competition offers early-career members the opportunity to share their work, gain presentation experience, and connect with the broader community. A monetary prize is awarded to the top presenter, as selected by a panel of judges.
MedPhys Slam is a high-impact science communication contest open to students, postdocs, and residents who are current AAPM Associate or Associate-Student members. Participants deliver a clear, jargon-free, three-sline, three-minute presentation to convey the “what, how, and why” of their research to a general audience. Presenters are evaluated by layperson judges on content comprehension, communication clarity, and audience engagement. Local chapters host preliminary rounds, and chapter winners receive travel support (up to $2,000) to compete in the national final at the AAPM Annual Meeting. Videos of top presentations are shared publicly to showcase medical physics to a broader audience.
